COURSE

Dominique Derisbourg, of Franco-Swiss nationality, was born on June 19, 1962

in Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise in the north of France. From the earliest age,

he was attracted to photography and it was in Toulouse that he began his studies

in the matter, before being admitted to the School of photography of Vevey.

There he followed a four-year training course at the end of which he began to realize

various commissioning work. But he is already very interested in fashion

and, after a year, he left to work in Paris.

Dominique Derisbourg nonetheless keeps a foot in Switzerland where he starts

a long collaboration as a fashion photographer with the magazine Femina.

He will thus produce thousands of fashion pages and nearly 700 covers.

This intense collaboration, coupled with the desire to diversify, pushes him

to find and work with different styles. Obliged to renew itself unceasingly,

he succeeds with success, drawing on his solid technical bases

and working equally with all kinds of devices

and in all formats: 24 x 36, 6/8, Polaroid 20 x 25, disposable camera,

submarine, Giant Camera 50 x 60 from Polaroid, as well as

the first digital cameras which only make 4 images per minute.

Forced to constantly vary genres and styles, he experiences all the more

the need for research, for personal expression.

The click is made when taking fashion photos on the Gauguin theme.

Dominique Derisbourg does not want to be satisfied with an ordinary photo,

was it successful, but wishes to return to this subject its painting aspect.

He performs tests and research in order to remove the effect of depth

suitable for photography and attempts to blend the person and objects into

backdrops - decorations that he makes himself.

Since then, the photographer Dominique Derisbourg, who is also a passionate

painting, continues and deepens his research, trying to find

a compromise between these two arts. He broadened his field of research

on the side of forms and the human body, and his work has been the subject of

many exhibitions.

Dominique Derisbourg continues to live between Switzerland and France,

especially in Paris where he works frequently.
